How to Stick to Your Fitness Plan in 2019

Your goal may be to get into better shape for 2019. This may be to lose weight, build muscle mass, or simply tone your abs and arms. Whatever it is, there are some ways to make sure that you stick to your fitness plan in 2019.

Create a Plan

Before you can ever think about sticking to a fitness plan, you need to create a plan that is achievable. You need to focus on physical activity that will help you to burn calories and reach your specific fitness goal. You may also want to eat healthier, such as following a specific diet.

Write down your plan. This way, you know what your goal is and how you’re going to achieve it. It will make it easier for you to hold yourself accountable. Plus, you will have a few stepping stones to ensure you head in the right direction throughout the year.

Tell Your Friends

Tell your friends that you have a fitness plan for 2019. Be sure you let your family know, too. Invite people to join in on the plan so that you have a partner. When you have someone else going to the gym with you or cutting calories at the dinner table, it will make it easier for you to stick with it month after month.

You can also be held more accountable if you tell your friends. If they haven’t seen you check-in at the gym in over a week or order French fries with your lunch, they can remind you that you have a fitness plan.

Journal Your Success

It’s important to journal your success in one way or another. You can create a blog, make posts on social media, or write everything down. By journaling, you remind yourself what you have been doing and where you started. Eventually, you’re going to hit some kind of hurdle. In order to get over that hurdle, you may need to rely on your journal to remind you why you decided to set a fitness plan to begin with. It may also give you the inspiration to keep going when you see what you have already accomplished.

Obtain Regular Inspiration

There are a lot of fitness stars on Instagram. You can follow them in order to get more inspiration. Part of your fitness plan may be to introduce new exercises each month. Doing so can ensure that you don’t get bored with your workout. If you want to stick to your fitness plan, you need to keep it new and exciting. Don’t be afraid to try something new and different.

By following fitness stars on Instagram or subscribing to different workout videos on YouTube, you can be sure to get updates when there are new posts. This will show you what others are doing to propel you to stick to your own fitness plan throughout 2019.

Check-In on Benchmarks

It’s easy to think that you’re not getting anywhere, even though you’re at the gym or doing your workouts daily. Set a few benchmarks and, then, check in on them. For example, identify that you want to lose a certain amount of pounds by the summer. Then, step on a scale periodically so that you can see whether you’re on your way to achieving the goal or not. If you’re meeting your benchmarks, it’s easier to get the motivation to stick to the plan that you have created.

Having a fitness plan is a great way to start the New Year. It’s important to not lose steam halfway through the year, however. By implementing a few things now, you can be sure that you stick to your plan. By the end of the year, you can give yourself a pat on the back for reaching your goals.
